OKINAWA EPISODE

Episode 9 of the Pacific took place in Okinawa, this episode was pretty good in my opinion it gave me a good understanding of the conditions the Americans had to fight in, and what was kind of running through there minds fighting there how the native Okinawans are really not the same as Japanese and that they are not the ones in war with us even though some of the soldiers treated them like they were. It was a great episode that was gory but gives you the general mindset of an American soldier fighting there.

The atomic bomb

I really agree with Truman to make the decision to drop the bomb because they gave the Japanese many chances to surrender or retreat out of the Philippines, however they didn't so the U.S bombed them so i understand why they would bomb them. It also helped bring the war to a close with a US victory.

Operation cartwheel

I think operation cartwheel was a very good military strategy because it avoided heavy Japanese forces and aimed more towards there lines of communication. 

D Day

U.S was officially in the war with entering a long battle (D-day). The objective of the U.S was to secure Normandy in France and the nazis had defenses set up on the beaches making it very difficult for the U.S to attack from the beaches. The U.S figured this, and sent fleets of paratroopers behind nazi lines to flank the nazi defenses and then destroy them to allies can then advance. This was the first battle the U.S has ever used paratroopers and it was pretty successful.

Holocaust Museum

Well when we went to the holocaust museum lots of people complained about the tour guides and the lack of knowledge returned on the trip. In my opinion my tour guide was pretty good explaining to us why certain events happened and she also didn't really rush our group all too much and i got a lot out of this field trip. However we didn't get to see all the museum which somewhat disappointed me. But i'm glad i got to go to the holocaust museum overall.

JIM Ogorzalek's WW1 Propaganda

The green man thinks that a world war is started by leaders who want more power, sooo they try to take over land that isn't theres and war starts out and then alliances and rivals will soon come into play. I think a war would be created today by terrorists and nuclear warfare!!
